Were American Early Furniture ever wondering how to actually make paper flowers?

Making or creating paper flowers has been Antique Pine Floors marvelous hobby of people of all ages from many generations before us, and hopefully many generations to come. There is an element of warmth you get after making a paper flower.

In this fast pace world we live in, taking the little bit of time to actually sit Money Boxes Antique and make a paper flower is both a stress reliever and a mind defogger. You can leave all your cares and worries from your place of employment behind and do something that is both relaxing and possibly useful for your next party.

There are only a handful of items that are needed for this project and they can all be found at the local hobby, or arts store. The first main supply is the crepe paper. It comes in single and double, depending on the number of flowers you are making. Scissors: 1 light weight pair to cut and shape the leaves or petals and a heavy pair for multiple layers of the crepe paper. Paste: the regular type with a hard brush. Tissue paper: This is used for creating all of the leaves. Also, you need a pencil, some florist tape, pins, wire, metal paper clips, and an artificial stamen.

Once you have all the items listed above, you can now begin to make your own personalized paper flower.

1. Start with 12-16 pieces of different sized, colored crepe paper. Stack all the papers in a neat pile and now use a pencil to draw the pattern, of your choice of a flower on the top sheet of paper in the pile.

2. Using the metal paper clip, fasten all the pieces of crepe paper together. Now, use the heavy scissors to cut out the pattern you made.

3. Arrange all the sheets of paper from largest to smallest in a pile making the largest on the bottom and the smallest on the top. With the pin, poke a hole in the middle of the petals of your flower.

4. Put all the petals together, starting at the bottom, to make a flower. Then put the wire into the whole in the center. You don't want the wire to slip out of the whole so twist one end. Now, where you stuck the wire use the florist tape to tape the petals here.

5. Now, choose your own design and make a leaf pattern. Use the green tissue paper and cut out the pattern with the light scissors.

6. Next, stick the leaves to the stem of the flower with the florist tape.

7. It's an optional feature, but you could add the artificial stamen to the middle of the flower.

*You can repeat this process and create as many different flowers as you desire.

Making paper flowers is a very inexpensive, and fairly easy hobby to do if you follow my instructions. Once you have mastered the main technique of paper flower making, you will want to make more detailed and larger creations and the possibilities will then be endless. Happy folding...

Solar Energy Homes Are Energy Efficient Homes

They use less energy and a renewable resource. They are becoming quite popular with people who are concerned about the environment. But solar is just one step in making a home Eco friendly.

An Eco friendly home does not have to be a new home. Older homes can be converted into an energy efficient one with some remodeling, redesigning or renovation. Popular energy efficient changes include replacing appliances and adding new energy sources.

Adding insulation in your attic is a fairly easy and can greatly increase your home's efficiency. If you aren't ready to add a heat on demand hot water system, just putting an insulation blanket on your existing tank can help your energy costs and fuel consumption.

If you aren't ready to replace your existing windows, to double or even triple pane ones, you can invest in window coverings that insulate from the sun during from the summer and hold out the cold in the winter, don't forget to open them on sunny days and let the sun warm your home. Just replacing the weather stripping on your thresholds, or adding caulk to cracks helps cut down on drafts.

Replace your old appliances with energy star ones. Energy star appliances are certified to use a small amount of energy. They also have minimal to no pollutants released into the air. If an energy star appliance is one that uses water, it uses the least amount of water possible. If it uses electricity, it uses less than an appliance that doesn't have an energy star label.

The energy star Polyurethane Insulation is not confined to appliances. The EPA and the US Dept of Energy also use the label to certify other household items. Some of these items include: heating elements, air cleaners, humidifiers and air conditioners. These items, displaying the energy star label, are environmentally friendly and income savers.

Other ways to Go Green with your home is using energy efficient light bulbs and low flow water faucets and shower heads.

Energy efficient light bulbs are called compact fluorescent light bulbs or CFLs. The light bulbs are proven to use less electricity and last longer than conventional bulb. They can be used indoors and out. Adding motion detectors and timers to your lighting will reduce consumption with little effort. Another great energy efficient light choice for outside is solar lighting. Don't buy the really cheap ones. Look for solar lights with at least 2 if not 3 LED lights. Those with just 1 LED will be very dim, 3 LEDs will light up nicely assuming they get at least 5 hours of sunlight a day.

Saving water is another step in Going Green with your home. Besides the Low Flow faucets and shower heads, purchase low flow toilets, front load washers, wash most laundry with cold water (except your whites), wash dishes Foam Pipe Insulation hand or only run the dishwasher when it's full, catch rain water for watering plants, take showers instead of baths or bathe once a week (only kidding). There's lots of ways to conserve, some you're already doing, I'm sure.

Wind energy is becoming more and more popular. Small wind turbines, to help generate power, are a rapid growing trend. I expect Boeing to start producing small propellers, similar to those seen on airplanes, made out of lightweight material that will withstand various wind speeds and temperatures. If not Boeing, then another company. Home wind systems will be as popular, if not more, because of the cost and the appearance. Remember when every home in America had an antenna on their roof. I believe the day is coming when everyone will have a wind turbine. They will come in many shapes, sizes and colors to match or blend with the roofing. They may even looks like works of art.

There are many ways to start living a more Eco-friendly life. The only thing that matters is that we get started instead of talk about it, one person at a time.

Wake up America, We can save this Planet!

Pacific Sport Fishing - Ocean Fishing

It's always a good day for fishing Marine Generator the Pacific Ocean! And a good day for fishing is a good day for many more than just those at the thick end of the poles!

From Alaska to Australia, Pacific sport fishing is a dynamic, exciting, bountiful industry. Just in America alone, there are 40 million anglers, according to statistics from the American Sportfishing Association. The impact of this industry puts it at about 47th place among all US corporations, with over $45 billion in retail sales. The Pacific Sport Fishing arm of this industry stretches wherever a boat can maneuver along the open waters and shorelines of this great body of water.

Countless hours of angling are satisfying the hunger of millions of sport fishermen and women. They are after the really big ones...the Marlin, averaging 150kg - 200kg in the southern waters, to the rowdy King Salmon in the northeastern waters off Alaska. Famous fighters bring excitement to every tug on the line. Yellowfin tuna, Striped, Black or Blue Marlin, Swordfish, Sailfish, Shark and Snapper. Northern waters pulsate with Salmon, Halibut, and the feisty Steelhead. In southern waters, the catch for Tuna runs from 30kg - 59kg, and the average Marlin weighs in the 150kg - 200kg range.

Just as the anglers are packing up their gear for long days in the sun, those who serve the anglers are ready for action. Charter boats, live-on experience expeditions, yachts, and a myriad of supporting retail outlets are bursting with action as their coffers fill up with the sport fishing industry's monetary contribution of over $125 billion plus (figures for US only!). Sport fishing charters cost about $400 to $2000 per day. Fishing license fees contribute to keeping this sporting industry thriving, with fish hatcheries, restocking efforts, and water preservation and conservation. Camera and film go right along with the tackle boxes, to capture that magic moment with fish and fisherman (or two or three fishermen holding those really big ones). And, over a million people are employed in this industry in the US alone. Multiply those figures for the rest of the Pacific coast countries and you can imagine the overall importance of sport fishing to all!

Add the benefits to the tourism industry and you can see the widespread impact of Pacific Sport Fishing. Ringing all around the Pacific, west to Hawaii, and south to Costa Rica and Mexico, and South America, sport fishermen are taking on the big ones in more ways than fish.

Accommodations run from rustic to deluxe in locations from Hawaii to Nicaragua, and on boats that are no longed call boats, they are ships. Yachts to cruisers, from boats that look to be right out of the movie "The African Queen", to ships large enough to even carry more yachts on board for special charter fishing trips, there is an accommodating place for every angler to settle down and enjoy their sport fishing experience. It's always a good day sport fishing in the Pacific!

Asthma and Its Symptoms

In his book, Essential Allergy, Niels Mygind defines asthma as,

"A lung disease characterised by: 1, variable and reversible airway obstruction; 2, airway inflammation; and 3, bronchial hyper-responsiveness."

Asthma is a disease where bronchial tubes are sensitive to irritants, which cause them to inflame and produce difficult breathing. The inflammation can cause,

* contraction of muscles around the air passages,

* swelling of the airway lining due to airway inflammation, and,

* excessive mucus in the airways.

Asthma occurs in most western countries and is the leading chronic illness of children.

Asthma, in some cases, cannot be cured, but for most patients it can be controlled so that they have only minimal and infrequent symptoms and they can live an active life.

If you have asthma, managing it is an important part of your life. Controlling your asthma means staying away from things that bother your airways and taking medicines or natural remedies as directed by your doctor.

When a person experiences a worsening of their asthma symptoms, it is called an asthma episode or, in Copd And Ccf cases, an asthma attack. During an asthma attack, smooth muscles around the bronchial tubes contract, making the airway openings narrower so less air can flow through. Inflammation increases and the airways become more swollen and narrow. Cells in the airways Bronchitis Smoking make more mucus than usual, which narrows the airways further. The changes to the airways cause the symptoms of asthma.

Asthma attacks are not all the same-some are worse than others. In a severe asthma attack, the airways can close so much that not enough oxygen gets to vital organs. This condition is a medical emergency. People can die from severe asthma attacks. A person suffering from an asthma attack has a sensation similar to drowning.

Learning the warning signs or asthma symptoms can often alert a sufferer in time to take preventive action, such as medication or natural remedies.

Asthma attacks can occur over a long period of time. Although there are times when acute episodes strike asthmatics, most asthma sufferers say that there are long periods during which they suffer few, if any, asthma symptoms.

Here are some asthma symptoms:

* Coughing. Coughing in people with asthma is often worse at night or early in the morning, making it hard for them to sleep. This may be the only symptom a child with asthma has.

* Wheezing. Wheezing is a whistling or squeaky sound when you breathe.

* A tight feeling in the chest. This can feel like someone is squeezing or sitting on your chest.

* Shortness of breath. Asthma sufferers often say they can't catch their breath, or they feel breathless or out of breath.

* Narrowing of the air passages in the lungs and hence increased resistance to airflow.

* Significant reversibility with steroid drugs

* Symptom-free periods

* Frequent occurrence of allergy

* Inflammation of the air passages

* Bronchial hyper-responsiveness to non-specific stimuli such as cold air, air pollution, pollen, dust, or other irritants

* Asthma symptoms brought on by exercises

* Coughing or wheezing brought on by prolonged crying or laughing

Not all people have these symptoms, and symptoms may vary from one asthma attack to another. Some symptoms are mild and some are life threatening.

Symptoms also differ in how often they occur. Some people with asthma only have symptoms once every few months, others have symptoms every week, and still other people have symptoms every day.
